| Philosophy of Education |
| I believe our faith is the core of our lives,
and our teaching should reflect our relationship with God. Every
child wants to learn and succeed in school and must be respected.
I believe that the children need to experience success and structure
lessons to foster this. I believe children need clear expectations
and rewards and consequences must be enforced fairly and consistently. |

Curriculum Summary
|
| |
| Mathematics |
|
We offer four different levels of Math in Middle School.
This allows for more individualization as well as an opportunity
to be challenged.
|
| |
| Mathematics - Applications and Concepts |
| This is the comprehensive curriculum for all sixth graders.
The focus is to learn mathematics by doing mathematics. It builds a strong
mathematical foundation by actively increasing their understanding. |
| |
| Pre-Algebra |
| This is the transition from arithmetic to algebra. The students
use their mathematical foundation and begin to think abstractly. Students learn
the process to go from the unknown to the answer. This class is designed for
seventh grade. Near the end of the seventh grade year students will be tested
to determine their readiness for algebra. All eighth graders will take algebra.
They will be divided into two groups based on test scores and past performance. |
| |
| Algebra A |
| This is an introduction to the first year algebra course. Geometry,
Stastics and Probability are integrated into this class. |
| |
| Algebra B |
| This is also a first year algebra class taught at a more accelerated
level with more difficult problem solving. |
