Kindergarten
Classroom projects are designed to provide students with introductory knowledge of the keyboard, Microsoft Paint, and Kid Pix. A wonderful assortment of simple activities help students reinforce their learning while practicing their computer skills.
Grades 1-3
Students will use a combination of programs to learn the keyboard, including All the Right Type, Microsoft Word and Power Point. Students learn important curriculum concepts thru a variety of projects which build technology skills. Software: Kid Pix, Word, Power Point, and Smart Board Software.
Grades 4-5
Students learn both curriculum concepts and technology skills through open-ended projects that require both critical thinking and technology skills. Creating several programs in Microsoft Word perfects students editing skills, graphing, formatting, clip art, auto shapes, spell check, thesaurus, and diagramming. Students need to be able to identify, acquire, interpret, evaluate, organize and share information in today's society. Techniques and strategies using Microsoft PowerPoint and the Internet assist them to attain this goal. Software: Word, Power Point, and Smart Board Software.
Grades 6-8
Students develop skills in word processing, multimedia presentations, graphic design, and using the Internet. Through high-interest cross curriculum projects like planning a trip and charting expenses, students learn how to use databases and how to create spreadsheets, formulas, and charts. In an effort to share news from the classroom to our community, and the world, students learn step-by-step directions for creating Web pages. As our curriculum develops we hope to offer creative ways to utilize digital photography. Software: Word, Power Point, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Smart Board Software.
