Band Program
Students from 4th through 8th grade may take lessons in brass, wind, woodwinds and percussion instruments. Lessons are held at school during the day. Students are introduced to a wide variety of musical styles and genre including Classical, Pop, Rock and Jazz. Holy Family band students perform in two concerts during the school year: one at Christmas and one in the spring. All students are encouraged to perform as soloists, or in trios, duets or quartets at the school concerts. Select students may perform at school masses. Additional band opportunities include participation in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (with director recommendation, application and scheduled audition). Select students are nominated to participate in the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Honors Band Festival. Middle school band students may participate in community outreach concerts.
